You saw a video teaser and heard me invite you to ALPHA last Sunday. What’s ALPHA? It’s a brand-new film series about questions of the Christian faith for seekers, skeptics, thinkers and everyone else. It’s for everyone but especially designed for those outside of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Do you know someone like that? We all do!
I’ve been wanting to introduce ALPHA to Willow View for several years now. The time is right to grow in our outreach to the Enid community, but we must begin first with us.
Have you seen the Enid News & Eagle this week? We’ve been running teaser ads every day preparing for our ALPHA launch next Wednesday, Jan. 22, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The idea is to create a "buzz” about ALPHA so when you invite someone, they may have heard about it.
It will be important for you to sign up this Sunday as we’ll begin with a meal for adults and youth every Wednesday night from 5:30 to 6 p.m. (Our children will still have their snack supper at 6 p.m. as usual at Roots to Wings.)
ALPHA was filmed at locations around the world and comes out of Holy Trinity Church Brompton in London. It’s led by Nicky Gumble and is currently in 129 countries. As far as I know, we are the first church in Enid to offer ALPHA.
ALPHA really has three main components: food, talk and discussions in small groups. We’ll meet from 5:30 to 7:25 p.m. Our youth will be joining us, too, for the talk and will share in their own discussion groups. ALPHA Guides are $5. There is no homework, just a chance to take notes.
Pray now for ALPHA and sign up this Sunday if interested. Who could you invite? This is an amazing opportunity for Willow View and Enid!
See you this Sunday. Blessings.
