I trust you and yours had a blessed Christmas this year. Some of you celebrated early with extended family and others of you may be yet to celebrate Christmas, but the greatest joy of Christmas for believers is still present every day – Jesus! His presence is what offers us continual encouragement and joy. This year is quickly coming to a close, but as you read these words from Pastor Charles Stanley, remember every ending has a new beginning.
Christmas is in the Books!
"The End! For some experiences we face, that is an encouraging sound. For those enjoyable and fulfilling times, The End may bring on a feeling of sadness. But life is filled with endings and beginnings.
"Have you noticed in the story of creation in Genesis 1 that God finishes each day with the words: “And there was evening and there was morning, …” and the names the day? Why didn’t He say, “And there was evening and morning”?
"It is because with God there is never an ending. The end of everything marks the beginning of something new. Since we are going to live eternally, there is no ending without a new beginning.
"The end of every day marks the beginning of a new day. The end of every experience is the step from which we walk into a new experience. The end of sickness is health. The end of labor is rest. The end of need is sufficiency. The end of life on earth for the believer is the beginning of life in heaven with our Lord. Life has no real finality – just endings and beginnings."
Love to you and yours. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we close out 2024 and eagerly anticipate 2025.
Yours in Christ’s love,
Pastor Mark
