The Blessing of Community

By Quintin Wray
I had the opportunity to join my boys on their field trip to Red Bird Farms yesterday. Now I must admit that I went knowing I was going to struggle with the idea of people using a farm to make money! You farmers know what I mean! But, it was a really good time, they have done a great job of making a small pumpkin patch experience for those in the Enid area.

While I was there, I took some time to walk through “the haunted forest” and speak to a member of our church family. What a blessing it is to be in community with one another. I really enjoyed the time just being able to visit with someone who genuinely loves the Lord.

It made me begin to think about unity and the beauty that is held therein. My first thought after our walk was Psalm 133:1, “How good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity.” How great is it to be able to share life together with each one of you as my Willow View family.

I think we are all very fortunate to have unity amongst us. Unity is something that can be hard to find. It is something that we could preach many sermons on and still not fully understand all there is to know. We all need each other; we all need a community.

I would encourage each of you to find your community. Church is a great place to start, an even greater place would be to look for an Adult Discipleship Community within our church. We have several communities who would love for you to join them. I promise you that you will not regret meeting more people in our church family, they are all great. There is a community for everyone at Willow View. Remember the Psalm that I talked about earlier: it is good and pleasant to be in unity with one another.

I hope each of you are having a great week, and I look forward to seeing you all in church this Sunday. Remember, if you do not have a community and would like to get plugged in, come  talk to me and we will find you one.

God bless,
Quintin Wray
