Children

We love Children

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him."  – Psalm 127:3

At Willow View, we believe that children are the energy and life of the church.  Families with children of all ages are invited to be part of worship services, education programs, ministries and missions of Willow View.

Sunday Mornings

Nursery

8:30 a.m. – Noon

Willow View has a professionally staffed nursery for children ages birth through 4 years old each week during Sunday services as well as special events.  In our nursery space, you will find activities and games that encourage developmental and spiritual growth.  We also have a fenced area with a playground and covered sidewalk for outside play.

Sunday School

10:00 to  10:50 a.m.

Sunday School is a time for our children to learn age appropriate Bible principles and stories on which they can build their faith through creative mediums.  We have a PreK-Kindergarten class, 1st and 2nd grade class, and a 3rd-5th grade class – each with unique curriculum.

Children's Church

During  both  worship  services

Following a children's message near the beginning of worship services, children from PreK through 3rd grade are invited to participate in Children's Church.  In Children's Church we use GoCurriculum or RightNow Media to experience a video-based lesson, sing songs, play games and participate in craft activities that focus on Biblical principles.

Wednesday Nights

Roots2Wings

During the school year, we meet on Wednesday Nights for Roots2Wings.  We begin at 6 p.m. with dinner for all students provided by adult groups within our church.  Then, from 6:30 to 7:15, we participate in our Roots2Wings activities.
Younger students (PreK-3rd grade) spend time establishing "Roots" in their faith through engaging series-based curriculum.  The current study is "Toy Bible Stories," which reminds us that we can use our special abilities to serve God!  We use a large group/small group format where students participate in object lessons, Bible story time and a game or other creative activity.
"Wings" is made up of our 4th and 5th grade students.  This group  focuses on putting faith in action.  They participate in local and international service projects, write cards to support members, and engage in active faith activities such as Bible journaling, games, prayer prompts and visual presentations of Biblical events.
Our Wednesday night ministry also presents the annual Christmas program and participates in worship services through scripture and music presentations.

Summers at Willow View

VBS

Vacation Bible School, or VBS, is a highlight of summers at Willow View!  We decorate most of the church and invite all the children we know that are entering PreK through 4th grade to join us for a week of games, crafts, bright colors, laughs, friends and especially getting to know Jesus.

VBS 2022 was June  13-16 and the theme was NORB-E.  This space theme launch ed us into learning that God is faithful, God made us, God is powerful, God is forgiving and God is compassionate.

Summer Camp

Children entering 3rd-5th grades are invited to Camp, where they stay in cabins and participate in worship, hiking, archery, crafts, music, swimming and more.  The beautiful camp setting, supervised activities and opportunity to find God in a completely new setting make camp a highlight for our students every summer.

Faith and fun

Who says Christian education has to be boring?  We don't!  Willow View offers a wide array of experiences and age-appropriate activities to help our children grow in faith ... and fun!

Fall  Festival

Fall Festival is Willow View's largest community outreach activity of the year.  Held annually on October 31st, we invite the community to join us for inflatables, games, prizes, cookies, candy, snacks, crafts and more.  We use a fun theme to bring light and love to Enid on this night.

Children's
ministry

With the departure of Ashley Kiper, formerly director of children’s ministries at Willow View since January 2013, we are looking to employ a new children's ministries director. Meanwhile, we are using a team of volunteers to conduct an aggressive, ongoing program of activities for children  from toddlers through fifth grade.
