The July 16th service at Willow View provided a unique opportunity for our congregation to experience the hearts of Pastor Mark and Robin McAdow as they shared the "preamble" of their adoption story for their daughter Hannah.

We hope that you will listen to this sermon online if you were unable to hear it in person and make plans to join us as we continue experiencing Sermons from the Heart in upcoming weeks.

Small Groups and Sunday School

Small Groups and Bible Studies

It’s about growing together and growing closer to God.  Willow View’s small group ministries continue to grow and become stronger with various women’s Bible studies, Emmaus reunion groups, topical studies, short-term groups and Disciple Bible study groups meeting throughout the year. Contact the church office for more information on the groups currently meeting.

Ministries - UMW 2Adult Sunday School Classes

The Anchored class includes couples and singles between 25 and 35 years old.  Our members are all newer congregants who are very active at Willow View.  We use curriculum that speaks to the needs of our age group.  Make sure you check out our Facebook page to keep up to date with our events and activities.

Community In Christ

This class is geared toward younger middle age married and singles. We use a variety of curriculum and some of it combines faith and family issues. We focus on the issues of raising children, creating strong relationships, studying the Bible, and developing our faith and the faith of our families. We strive to make everyone comfortable with our relaxed, conversational style of learning and teaching.

Community in Christ has numerous social activities throughout the year. Pool parties, game nights, and dinners are all family friendly with childcare provided when needed. This is a perfect class for families with children still at home.

Our growing class typically focuses on the mixture of faith and culture.  Our Baby Boomer dominated class is perfect for those with a desire to discuss topics in an intelligent way.  We tend to have a more progressive approach to faith issues.  Although our class is almost 60 years old, we continue to grow and gain new members.

The Crusaders Sunday School Class was organized in the mid-1950s at Central United Methodist Church in response to a need for an identity and a place for a growing group of young married couples coming into the church at that time. The name “New-Comers” was given to the group and Carl Christensen was given the assignment of teaching the group.

The class began to grow in numbers and in dedication and service to the church and its ministry in the community. The class members have contributed to the church, now known as Willow View, in all areas of church life including music, Boy Scouts, finance, building committee, teaching and other administrative posts such as fellowship and funeral family dinners.

The class members felt a name change was in order around 1960 and a new name was selected that would reflect their desire to show vitality and commitment to Christian values through the church. Carl Christenson was their beloved Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. In 2008 he and his wife, Vera Mae, moved to Virginia to be near family. Instead of trying to replace him (an impossible task), the class now has various studies with emphasis on class discussions.

The class has a breakfast gathering two or three times a year during the Sunday School session with regularly scheduled social gatherings several times a year.

There are no age suggestions for participation. Singles or married couples are welcome in whatever place they find themselves in their particular point in life. The Crusaders meet in the church parlor for a class lesson and discussion session each Sunday morning. All are more than welcome to attend.

The Eagles class is a dynamic class that has a lecture format, but lots of discussion is involved.  United Methodist curriculum is typically used in this strong, older adult class. There are four teachers who rotate the teaching duties weekly. We try to have at least two social events per year: A Christmas party including a gift exchange and another event sometime within the summer months.

This is a forward-looking, caring class whose members are always willing to participate in church activities and always ready and willing to help anyone in need.

This newest class of professional young couples is geared toward reaching adults in their mid-30s and younger.  We use a variety of curriculum that often deals with family/couples issues.  We offer lots of discussion, especially relating to living out our professional and spiritual lives.

Our discussion-oriented, growing class focuses primarily on contemporary studies by popular Christian authors.  The class has a membership with a various age group of fun-loving people who enjoy time spent together studying the Bible and various videos and study guides which have enriched our Christian life. We have a close relationship with the Lord and each other through our fellowship.
